In order to avoid withdrawal requests for monies from 529 or mutual fund accounts being NIGO, please be certain to detail how much money is to come from which fund.
In a few cases, a 529 may be invested in an age-based selection; ie just have one holding. Here it is fine to request a $ amount from the account.
In all other cases, however, it is necessary to let us know how much* is to come from which fund to total the amount being requested. Please be certain to provide a Fund Symbol (or Cusip) along with as much of the fund name as you have.
It's critical to let us know if you are pulling from A or C shares (or both) for those clients holding both share classes. How much from each.
Lacking this detail can lead to request being NIGO and thus slowed down in getting processed while we ask you for this information.
*Some fund companies will not accept a request to pull the money "pro-rata" from the various holdings a client has. They instead ask for us to "do the math". They want to know how much to pull from each fund, in dollars and cents. Fyi, American Funds/Capital Group is a Co that will accept a request to pull money out pro-rata.
