Orion- How to See Client Information

Orion- How to See Client Information

This article shows how to view client account information in Orion.

Keep in mind that any account that does not have a download source, i.e., life insurance, will not show assets or transaction data.

Getting Started:

Finding Accounts:

The left-hand side of Orion is our Navigation pane. Go to All Applications>Portfolio Audit>Accounts.

From there, you will see a more in-depth side panel. Click 'Accounts'   and all your clients accounts will be displayed.
Note: the little blue arrow lets you have that panel displayed or hidden.

Customizing Your View:

To reorganize the data columns so that they display the information you would like to see, go to the right-hand side panel to customize which columns show and in what order. Don't forget to click that blue arrow to open the panel if it isn't there. To change the order of the columns, drag and drop the names of the columns in order to change their order. You can also show disabled columns to enable them again and unclick the side arrows to disable them. Don't forget to save your changes by clicking the little pencil box and saying ' Save Changes' or 'Save as New View' if you'd like to customize different views.

Searching for Specific Clients:

The default display is a list of all your client accounts. You can sort that list by clicking on the title of a column or you can search for specific clients or groups by typing in what you are looking for in the white search section.
Note: If you have multiple advisors in your office, enter their name in the 'Old Rep' column to see only their clients.

If you don't see a client, it may mean that they are not under Mutual Securities yet, are not linked in your Orion system or possibly have left Mutual. If a client account is inactive, the COBD Notes column will show the reason; i.e., account closed, surrendered, deceased, transferred from MSI, etc. To see if clients are Active or Inactive click that upper right hand blue arrow to open the panel (if closed) and click on the 'Show Active' drop down menu. Click Active or Not Active or Both to help further customize your view.

Creating Favorites for Easier Navigation:
Right click on the Application you'd like to add to Favorites. A direct link to it will be on your left-hand navigation page.

Getting More In-Depth:

Right clicking on a client's name shows more in-depth views within an account, registration or household.

Assets:
Upon right clicking on an account, you will see the Assets option which you can click. This will show you the assets in an account.
Note, the household balance is in the upper left-hand corner, which is different than the balance of assets in the actual account as pictured below.

Reports - Standard:
Upon right clicking on an account, you will see the 'Run Report' option which you can click. From there, you can run the following 'Standard Reports' which are reports for that specific account and household if available.

Reports- Queries:
For more in-depth reports that include more than one account or household, please see the following article on how to run Query Reports.

Transactions:
Upon right clicking on an account, you will see the Transactions option which you can click. This will show you a history of the transactions in an account, i.e. client distribution, client contribution, asset fee, etc.
